Colbert and Stewart are geniuses. I wish Stewart would come back because he is much more of a ray of truth that I believe outshines Colbert. Colbert in his own right is brilliant. However Stewart took on the news media much more viscerally and WON some major battles with regard to content and using news broadcasts as a weapon to galvanize extreme partisan opinions disguised as “news” for a run for ratings and ad revenue. It’s far too easy to point at the other and call them idiots, imbeciles, etc. because they don’t agree with your point of view. We can hardly watch any news broadcast which doesn’t devolve into editorial opinion and extreme bias. Many broadcasts simply become another form of reality TV with no more deeper content than Jersey Shore. And they’ve been doing this for DECADES. Suddenly Jwow is arguing foreign policy...The Situation is bringing his special brand of stock and financial tips...and now the weather with Snookie. Today gauge the social climate and political temperature (no pun intended) of our society. Go no further than Social Media and witness people’s feeds turning from funny memes and vines to family members coming to verbal blows resulting in many friend’s lists being purged and/or life long friends and family members being blocked. News media influenced profit partisanship styled television slowly spins threads into the fabric of our reality...with no one taking responsibility or even interested in a conversation about the serious issues that Colbert and Stewart point to and make fun of to highlight its ludicrous sense of paradox...society’s insatiable appetite for conflict entertainment. This is a generalization and the issues are much more complex, however lets put down the insults and become better humans. Trump is a symptom of our society’s hunger for change...by hook or by crook...to shake up the establishment not realizing that the establishment devours EVERYONE that gets elected if they do not have a strong moral character and a team that supports them. Trump is a mirror of everything the establishment has become.

I am so tired of peple talking of Trump. Suddenly there is no other news. When I used to whatch the Daily Show I learnt so much about so many things, you all had really good team of investigators on the daily show or asked really interesting thinkers on. Now it seems as if nothing happens but what Trump does. Is he in control? Who is the real man between the scenes or men, I so doubt that he is still in control.

I keep cringing when ever the interviewer asks Stephen questions.... such stupid dimwitted questions. Just doesn't do justice to Stephen and listeners. He obviously can't appreciate or even understand the depth of what Stephen is talking about. Interviewers need to be a step ahead of the conversation and respond cleverly with empathy, wit or insight not be a passive listener. He just reads off the paper in front of him. He is useless without the script, he can't improvise or lead a genuine conversation. If you can't do the job right, move aside, give it to someone who can, for the sake of everyone else. I can't believe he represents The New York Times. If you are reading this, sorry, I am not trying to be mean, perhaps you have other strengths you can play to.. but i think you underestimated what it takes to interview the best talk show host in America. I had to stop watching half way because I couldn't stand it. Maybe I am being harsh.. perhaps your effort at least deserves respect.

ASPCA & Bestiality I was a member of the ASPCA until I entered puberty. And then I quit, cuz my parents let me. I don't really know anything about the ASPCA even though I do remember something happening when I was around ten. So the ASPCA was a mystery to me, accept for their ads for dog & cat abuse on the TV. I finally got to talk very candidly with a spokesperson for the ASPCA & a family friend. So what is the ASPCA? What R U guys & gals all about? OK he said: the ASPCA is a powerful & influential national organization dedicated to having sex with animals. We are into expressing carnal love for animals. We're in favor of inter-species marriage. To put it quite frankly, we are in favor of world wide bestiality. Really? Of course. I thought everybody knew that? Well I thought the American Society to Prevent Cruelty to Animals was to prevent cruelty to animals. Of course we are not cruel to the animals we 'ph'k! Mostly we ph'k dogs & cats but each of our ph'kings... red rockets... etc is done using Crisco. Every animal shelter has tons of the stuff. But Crisco is a shortening, I exclaimed. Suddenly the ASPCA'S spokesperson's face went blank & he discontinued our interaction. Later it was revealed in the press that male animal caretakers at the ASPCA had been having sex with animals & using Crisco as a lubricant and all of their penises were reduced in size. They all felt it was a punishment from God for ph'king animals but then they remembered, there is no God!

His election night show was the last show i saw .... it really showed how he couldn’t deal with the country rejecting his ideals.... i felt sorry for the audience in bis show.... paying all that money to see him fuck up so bad on live television.... leftwing media is propaganda and seeing how all of their efforts blew up in their face that night really changed my opinion that television isnt the final propaganda tool anymore of who wins the election like it was in Kennedy’s win... The internet really is working for the people... we get to choose what we want... where we get our news.... so we need more of our own outlets, comedians and media like fox.... trump 2020

Alex The Anthem Guy
Alex The Anthem Guy

I like what you say, Stephen, about striving for emotional honesty rather than simply being "clever". That's meaningful. Yet when the interviewer asked you whether you're contributing to the national polarization, you gave what seemed like an inconsistent answer. You said that "your intention is not to influence, but to just laugh about what happened today." If you strive for emotional honesty however- which most shows do not do- how can you claim that you're simply trying to get people to laugh about what happened today? "Just laughs" seems to trivialize your organizing principle
